Voters in Wiltshire and Swindon have shown that they want action on climate change and protecting the natural world. The Labour Party and the Lib Dems - who both have far more ambitious climate and nature policies than the Conservatives - gained five of our eight seats which were all previously held by the Conservatives. Voters also sent a clear message by voting for the Green Party, with their vote share increasing across the county as a whole.
East Wiltshire, Salisbury and South West Wiltshire were held by the Conservatives. Swindon North and South were gained by Labour, and Chippenham, Melksham and Devizes and South Cotswolds were all gained by the Lib Dems.
Thank you to all of our individual and group members who helped bring attention to the issues throughout the General Election campaign.
In the coming weeks and months we and our members will be reaching out to all of our new and re-elected MPs to make sure climate and nature issues stay high on their agendas.
